My Philosophy

I believe that every person has the right to happiness and self-acceptance. For some, those basic rights may feel unattainable and the road to self-actualization challenging to navigate; or even, impossible to find. My role as a counselor is to partner with my clients, explore their values and goals, and provide a safe space for exploration and growth.

We all need guidance and support at different times in our lives. My approach to counseling is to meet you where you are, no matter your life stage.  My experience as a teacher in both schools and outdoor education, as a mother and a wife, and from professional training in the field of counseling, have provided me with tools to share with others. I follow a client-centered style and hope to construct a truly non-judgmental space; I am so grateful to be but a small part of your journey.  I also believe the mind and body work in synergy, and therefore, there is great value in a holistic approach to counseling.

My Background

  • Master’s of Science from National Louis University
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
  • Licensed School Counselor
  • Experience with adolescents requiring partial and outpatient care

Outside of my career, my passions are family and being outside! I am happiest when I am hiking, biking, gardening, playing with my dog, or spending time with my two teenagers and husband. I also enjoy reading and cooking, especially when I can support local farmers markets!
